United Airlines at EWR
United Airlines operates EWR as its largest hub with over 600 daily departures to more than 200 destinations worldwide. EWR handles United's premium transatlantic and transcontinental routes. Terminal C is exclusively United, and the new Terminal A opened in 2023 with additional United gates. This is one of the largest crew bases in the country.

EWR is in northern New Jersey with good transit options. Most crew live in nearby Essex or Union County towns to keep commutes short and costs manageable.

Immediately south of the airport. 5–15 minute drive. Most affordable option near EWR. Elizabeth has NJ Transit rail service and diverse dining. The highest concentration of EWR crashpads is in this area.

West along the NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line. 20–25 minute drive. Charming downtown areas with restaurants and shops. More suburban and family-friendly. Popular with senior crew who want a quieter lifestyle.

Northeast of the airport along the PATH train. 15–20 minute drive but longer by transit. Urban lifestyle with Manhattan access via PATH. Most expensive option but best for crew who want NYC proximity on days off.

AirTrain Newark

NJ Turnpike & I-78
Major highway access via the NJ Turnpike (I-95) and I-78. Traffic can be heavy during rush hours — allow extra time between 7–9 AM and 4–7 PM. Off-peak driving is straightforward.
